Family Values

Our society needs to be founded upon strong families.  A strong economy and sound education system starts with a nuclear family.  As a husband, father, and grandfather, Brad understands this.

In 2013, Brad worked to stop gay marriage in Illinois and voted against the bill that authorized it.  Brad is pro-life.  He sponsored legislation to require doctors to provide women with an ultrasound if they want.  He also sponsored legislation to require abortion clinics be regulated like any other surgical facility.

Brad will fight to protect life and will sponsor and fight for legislation to curtail and hopefully eliminate abortion.

There is currently A bill pending in the Illinois House requires public schools to teach students about the contributions of gays and lesbians throughout history.

    http://www.wcsjnews.com/news/local/legislation-requires-public-schools-to-include-lessons-on-lgbtq-contributions/article_b1a9a42e-2a5d-11e9-a04c-a71c493a902d.html

While I am neither any kind of “…phobe” nor any kind if “…ist” I believe that it is irrelevant and useless information and certainly not worthy of parades to share where someone wants to put there genitals somewhere, gay or straight!

Schools are charged with teaching the knowledge to prepare students to support themselves and their families as they grow older and go into the world. We would be better as a society if schools paid attention to their purpose rather than stroke peoples self image.

I hope the Representative will vote no on this bill.

Mr. Halbrook, It was good to meet you today and sign your petition to be on the ballot for the next election. My husband and I are so pleased to be represented by a legisator that shares our conservative values of the importance of the nuclear family, smaller government, lower taxes, good education, and transparency in the government activities. Hopefully, we will be able to meet you again on Sept. 23 at your local meeting in Sidell. Thank you for stopping by today. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Glasow
