Champaign, IL - U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today announced he will be hosting his second Open Government Night following the first event held in Decatur recently where more than 250 constituents attended. The series is in conjunction with state lawmakers to allow constituents an opportunity to hear directly from their elected officials at the state and federal level on important issues. The second event will be held in Champaign with State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville).

"Ensuring constituents have an opportunity to hear directly from their elected officials continues to be my priority," said Davis. "Open Office Hours allow me to have personal, one-on-one conversations with people about the issues they care about. Open Government Nights allow people to discuss issues facing our government at the state and federal levels. I'm looking forward to discussing these issues next Monday night."

“Events like this are a great way for area residents to hear directly from their State Representative and Congressman about the issues important to them. We need to hear from our constituents, and so I would encourage everyone to try to make it out and let their voice be heard." said Halbrook.

Open Government Nights are free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis for constituents.

Davis has hosted 70 Open Office Hours, where constituents meet with him one-on-one or in small groups, and his staff has held 106 Traveling Help Desks, where they help constituents with casework or take down policy concerns, during his time in Congress.
